Former Pure Fishing marketing manager to head up business development team for federation
The Bass Federation’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Robert Cartlidge, announced today the hiring of industry veteran, Tammy Cox, formerly of Pure Fishing. Cox’s most recent experience was the longtime grassroots marketing manager for the Berkley product lines, among others.

FLIPPIN, Ark. – Paul Clark and Brett Preuett, collegiate anglers from the University of Louisiana-Monroe, won the Ranger Cup University Fish-Off in impressive fashion over anglers from Tennessee Tech. The tournament, which occurred September 22 on a private Oklahoma lake owned by Ranger Pro and professional bass fishing legend Jimmy Houston, pitted the two highest-qualifying teams from the FLW College Fishing Championship and the BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing National Championship in a winner-take-all, made-for-TV event.

GoPro professional anglers Brent Ehrler, Gerald Swindle and Brandon Palaniuk just updated their GoPro cameras and smart phone apps with the latest GoPro technology. The new app and matching firmware for the GoPro camera's will allow the anglers to instantly shoot a photo or video and upload through a number of channels including social media, email and messaging.


Back in February of 2012 Rodney Ply of Diamond City, Ark., caught what was thought to be a world record striped bass from Bull Shoals Lake weighing 68 pounds. Ply submitted the fish to the International Game Fish Association (IGFA) for record certification but that is when the problems arose. The IGFA denied Ply's claim by stating that the fish was caught in a manner that violated their use of spreader bars. The Arkansas native had used a homemade umbrella rig to catch the monster fish.
