Top-10 lures at Lake Hartwell
South Carolina pro Casey Ashley dominated the Walmart FLW Tour presented by Ranger Boats event at Lake Hartwell last week, winning in wire-to-wire fashion in front of a hometown crowd. Yet, he wasn’t the only pro to successfully navigate the up-and-down weather conditions of the event for a high finish.
Here’s a look at the entire roster of top-10 finishers from Hartwell and the lures they used to get to the final day.
2. Runner-up Andy Morgan showed the fish plenty of options, including a ½-ounce War Eagle jig trailed with a Zoom Chunk, a shaky head rigged with a Zoom Finesse Worm, a Sworming Hornet Fish Head Spin and a couple of War Eagle spinnerbaits.
7. Chevy pro Anthony Gagliardi made a serious bid to qualify for the Forrest Wood Cup on his home lake by finishing seventh with a Buckeye Lures Spot Remover shaky head rigged with a 5 ½-inch soft-plastic stick bait.
9. Ryan Davidson reached the top 10 with a pair of lures from a new company called Elite Bait Shop – a ¾-ounce football-head jig in blue craw with a Strike King Rage Tail Rage Chunk trailer and a 3/8-ounce spinnerbait in white and chartreuse with tandem Colorado and willow blades, both gold.
