In an ongoing effort to provide as much interaction between world-class anglers and fishing fans as possible, FLWOutdoors.com has announced the 71st installment of FLW Live Reel Chat. On Friday, Aug. 30 at 2 p.m. Central time (3 p.m. ET), visitors to FLWOutdoors.com will be able to correspond directly with EverStart team pro Randall Tharp of Port Saint Joe, Fla., the winner of the 2013 Forrest Wood Cup on the Red River, in a special live chat-room format.
EverStart team pro Randall Tharp made history on Aug. 18 by capturing the prestigious Forrest Wood Cup title on the Red River. Tharp led the event for the first two days, buoyed in part by a hefty 18-pound-plus stringer on day one. However, after a slight hiccup on day three, he managed to change things up, capitalize on a frog bite and ultimately cruise to victory by 4 full pounds. For his efforts, Tharp walked away with the top prize of $500,000 and now boasts over $1.26 million in career FLW earnings. The Florida resident also has 38 top-10 finishes to his credit, including seven FLW Tour final-day appearances since 2011. In addition to the 2013 Forrest Wood Cup title, Tharp has six other victories including an FLW Tour win on Lake Okeechobee in 2012, an EverStart Series win on Lake Eufaula in 2008 and four BFL titles from 2003 to 2009.
Chat directly with Tharp
Participation in the upcoming chat is simple. At the start of the next live chat on Aug. 30, visitors can log on at 2 p.m. Central time (3 p.m. Eastern time) and interact directly with Tharp or simply watch the chat unfold online. As always, FLW fishing fans may begin submitting questions immediately.
During the chat, fishing fans will be able to ask Tharp about his first-ever Forrest Wood Cup victory on the Red River, pose tips-and-technique questions or ask anything else that comes to mind. Again, visitors to FLWOutdoors.com are able to log on and submit questions in advance of the scheduled chat in order to have the first shot at getting their questions answered. It’s also a great way to participate if you’re unable to make the Aug. 30 live chat. However, for those who miss the chat entirely, a transcript of the event will be posted to the site in article form immediately following its conclusion.
In addition, fishing fans who missed out on any previous FLW Live Reel Chats can find links to their full transcripts here.
FLWOutdoors.com will offer the FLW Live Reel Chat format continually, with regularly scheduled chats occurring after each FLW Tour event. Also, additional chats will be added throughout each month as anglers or fishing celebrities become available.
