My team for some reason has decided to fish everyman for himself in the qualifying tournaments. This would work; however, they are not giving the co-angler any time in the front of the boat. Which is completely unfair IMO. In order for it to be fair it would have to be match fishing. Four hours in the front, and four hours in the back.

I personally am a fan of team fishing, because to be good you need to get along and fish with a boater that compliments your fishing style. Then you have your standard tournament format which is boater vs boater and co vs co.

Which format does your collegiate team use?

Ok, well guys I was wondering why a 2yr school fish? We have the club, We have the competition. Why not let us compete. Ill be dead honest with everyone on this forum. I personally do not have the money to attend a 4yr school. Ive chosen to go with a 2yr school for that reason. With being top 5% in my high school class and in the top 10% at my local college I feel this is almost discriminatory. I started fishing when i was 2.5yrs old and tournament fishing at 5. With that being said I want to fish this circuit extremely bad and feel I can be very competitive!

I talked to Kevin today. I was told 2yr schools were not allowed to fish because he is having trouble keeping track of the 1800 4yr schools. Wasn't the whole point of this circuit to bring competitive fishing at the college level? Why not hire more people? I was also told this will not be changing for awhile if ever. Because there are more teams than he can handle. So whats a 2yr school fisherman to do? Watch his dream he has had since he was 5 wash down the tube? Right now that's the way it seems. Looks like my skills will sit and rot because I am unable to afford a 4yr school that offers everything I need.

Lets get some opinions on this guys!

Wearing School Jerseys vs. FLW Sponsor Jerseys

Ok so here's something I've been thinking about the last few days. I think we should be able to wear our school jerseys on televised days. I know that FLW has always had a rule in place to wear their sponsor's jerseys. I think that is a completely valid rule for guys who are fishing to solely represent themselves. I think for the college tourneys they should change this rule and let us represent our school cause that's really what this is all about anyway, the intercollegiate competition. It's absolutely awesome that the sponsors are throwing down all of this money for prizes and travel expenses, don't get me wrong on that at all. I'm extremely thankful for everything they are doing. It's an amazing opportunity.

All I'm saying is maybe we could get the rule changed for us because we are not representing ourselves as much as the guys on tour or the Stren series. We are representing our school and I think we should be able to do that with our school jerseys on national TV.

How are you guys getting sponsors? ( I know you can only have sponsors in the qualifying events for flw college fishing) I'm guessing that you probably have to be a well established club (which mine is not) to actually find sponsors that are willing to offer you a deal. I was just looking at the mississippi state fishing jersey:

http://www.geminisportmarketin...Mississippi+State.jpg

I was just thinking that it would be big boost in funds if we could get at least one sponsor, and we could place a big sponsor logo on the front of our jerseys like that just to start out. Are you guys just picking local or national companies and emailing them telling them that you plan on competing in several tournaments and telling them why they should sponsor you type stuff?
