Ron that is a touchy subject and has been hashed out here several times. I have been fortunate and have had great boaters in my short 2 year run in the BFL's, one could have done better but its ok. Personally on a couple of occasions i have been in the situation that you described , after a bit i asked the guy if he could pull the boat out a bit so we could both fish (very polity asked) and both times they apologized and asked why i hadn't said anything earlier. About half the guys i have drawn out with i still keep in contact with so maybe i been lucky. As far as the HDS...if i have to see a Lowrance i just as soon look at a blank screen! LOL That should poke up things a bit : ) Simply clearly better .....Go Humminbird ! Anyway sorry back to the subject to be honest about all you can do is ask...you are at there mercy to say the least. There boat, their spots your fishing they have priority. Not taking up for the guy or making excuses but he might just be in the moment and not aware he was taking all the water ( or could have also ). Remember at the end of the day its up to "you" how much gas money you give....

I have not seen this topic discussed in this forum and wondered how non-smoking boaters dealt with this issue. I'm not a smoker and assume if it's my boat I can ask the co-angler not to smoke. I've had boaters ask me as a co-angler if it was ok to smoke and I thought that was nice of him to ask, and told him it was his boat.

Does anyone have an idea how to pack or ship your 7' bass rods ? The airlines only allow 62" long package. I was thinking of getting some PCV pipe big enough for 5, 7' rods and shipping them UPS to my hotel to hold for me. Any ideas ?

Just read Bass Fan article on Andy Morgan expressing his view that he could have had a sack against Wheeler if he did not have co-angler in his boat and how they should be eliminated for Championship. I disagree 100%, being a co myself we are not the fortunate ones to have the funds, sponsors and time to fish as a majority of pros at the top level do. Most co's have other jobs and fish as co's to learn, compete and if possible some day move to the front of the boat. Quite a few pros started at the back of the boat and it is my feeling that co's are one of the staples of big organizations like FLW to continue the growth of the sport. Fishing is already expensive and if they move to eliminate the co's as BASS did I believe the organization will lose future anglers. Co's fish to compete and understand they are at a disadvantage from start and As I many have been in situations where they could have cashed or won but know from the start they are there to fish and learn and maybe cash a check. So get over yourself Andy And just Fish.
