


Marsh and Boe Claim title for Lake Orion Senior High School
ROGERS, Ark. – The team of Nick Marsh and Kyle Boe, from Lake Orion High School in Lake Orion, Mich., dominated the field Sunday with five bass weighing 10 pounds, 14 ounces to take the top honors at The Bass Federation (TBF) 2013 High School Fishing National Championship on Beaver Lake. For their efforts, the team won a $10,000 scholarship ($5,000 to each team member).

High-school seniors from around the country will soon be graduating and many are beginning to make the important decision of where they will be attending college this fall. The presence (or lack) of a bass fishing club has become one of the many deciding factors that students have began to consider when selecting a college. As we enter into the spring of 2013, many young anglers have now made their academic decisions and will pursue success while joining the ranks of college fishing.

$2,000 in scholarships to be awarded to winning team
Murray, KY – Murray State University announced it will host the 2013 Murray State High School Fishing Open on Sunday, March 3 in partnership with FLW, The Bass Federation (TBF) and the Bluegrass State Games. The winning team will receive a $2,000 scholarship to attend Murray State while providing all teams the chance to fish Kentucky Lake in advance of the first ever bass-fishing state championship sanctioned by the Kentucky High School Athletic Association.

Teams from across the region were competing and Matt Neiburg and Zach Madsen, both of Blaire, Neb., representing Blair High School, won the tournament, which was also held on Lake Dardanelle, with a five-bass limit weighing 15-0.
