MINNEAPOLIS – Fishing fans from across the world will be entertained at the Forrest Wood Cup by country music star Justin Moore. Moore will perform courtesy of Chevy before the final weigh-in on Sunday, Aug. 8 at 4 p.m. at the Arena at Gwinnett Center. The event is free and open to the public.

Moore is best known for his hit “Small Town USA,” an ode to the spirit and simplicity of small-town life. The fast-rising song has become a top 15 hit and established Moore as one of 2009’s breakout country artists, garnering attention from People, The Washington Post and Billboard. The singer-songwriter is currently touring with Brad Paisley on the H2O World Tour and has landed coveted spots on tours with Trace Adkins, Hank Williams Jr. and Lynyrd Skynyrd and opened for Brooks & Dunn, Kenny Chesney and ZZ Top.

Moore cites influences by Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, John Anderson and Vern Gosdin, as well as Charlie Daniels, Hank Williams Jr. and the Marshall Tucker Band. His music defies boundaries and definition with its edge, attitude and instrumentation.

Moore’s self-titled debut includes “Backwoods”, “How I Got to Be This Way,” “The Only Place That I Call Home” and “Good Ole American Way.” Those songs extol the virtues of a simple life, while “Like There’s No Tomorrow” is a sap-free love song with a Southern rock kick. Live-show favorites include the tongue-in-cheek “Back That Thing Up,” his first single, and “I Could Kick Your Ass,” which received 15,000 downloads months before the album’s release.
