Fishing License: Maryland and Virginia licenses do reciprocate (see Virginia and Maryland regulations for complete details). All anglers fishing Maryland water must be prepared to present a valid drivers license or picture ID along with a fishing license. Visit www.dnr.state.md.us/service/license.asp to purchase a Maryland fishing license. D.C. licenses may be purchased at Fred's Sporting Goods (301.842.3040).

D.C. Waters: A U.S. Coast Guard state boating course and D.C. license required when fishing D.C. waters. The free safety course can be taken online at www.boatus.com.

Saltwater Registry: Federal Law requires all anglers who fish in tidal waters including the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries to register with the National Saltwater Angler Registry. It is free of charge and you may register at www.countmyfish.noaa.gov or by calling 1.888.674.7411.
