    Lee wins BFL Super Tournament on Cherokee Lake

    Boater Joe Lee of Knoxville, Tenn., used a 23-pound, 9-ounce catch to win the two-day BFL Super Tournament on Cherokee Lake. For his efforts, Lee took home $4,600 in winnings.
    Drinnon snares first place in Co-angler Division

    Boater Joe Lee of Knoxville, Tenn., caught a two-day total of 10 bass weighing 23 pounds, 9 ounces Sept. 17-18 to win $4,604 in the Walmart BFL Volunteer Division Super Tournament on Cherokee Lake. Lee was using a Strike King crankbait while fishing in creek channels.

    Drinnon nets co-angler title

    Co-angler Bobby Drinnon of Rogersville, Tenn., used a 10-pound, 10-ounce catch to win the two-day BFL Super Tournament on Cherokee Lake. For his efforts, Lee took home $2,300 in winnings.Bobby Drinnon of Rogersville, Tenn., caught a two-day total of four bass weighing 10 pounds, 10 ounces Sept. 17-18 to win $2,302 in the Co-angler Division. Drinnon also fished in creek channels, but used a jig to catch his bass.

    6th: Gregory Vinsant, LaFollette, Tenn., five bass, 7-10, $422

    7th: Benjamin Pendley, Knoxville, Tenn., three bass, 7-6, $384

    8th: Ron Nelson, Kodak, Tenn., four bass, 7-1, $345

    9th: John Coker, Knoxville, Tenn., two bass, 5-0, $307

    10th: Jimmy Flanagan, Kingston, Tenn., two bass, 4-9, $269

    Best of the rest

    The top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 13-15 Regional Championship on Smith Mountain Lake in Huddleston, Va. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
