    Cox wins Piedmont Division event on Lake Gaston

    Boater Chris Cox of Greenville, N.C., earned $4,324 as the winner of the Sept. 10-11 BFL Piedmont Division Super Tournament on Lake Gaston.

    Boater Chris Cox of Greenville, N.C., caught nine bass weighing 31 pounds, 3 ounces in the Sept. 10-11 Walmart BFL Piedmont Division tournament on Lake Gaston to win $4,324. Cox was using a green-pumpkin jig around docks to catch his bass.

    Rounding out the remaining top 10 boaters:

    3rd: Dan Treadaway, Rocky Mount, N.C., nine bass, 20-7, $1,441

    6th: Michael Garner, Skippers, Va., seven bass, 18-5, $793

    7th: Chris Baldwin, Lexington, N.C., eight bass, 17-14, $721

    8th: Dennis Reedy, Siler City, N.C., seven bass, 17-13, $649

    9th: James (Buster) Seabolt, Dunn, N.C., eight bass, 16-6, $577

    Tom Holt of Cornelius, N.C., earned $2,162 as the co-angler winner of the Sept. 10-11 BFL Piedmont Division event.

    Tom Holt of Cornelius, N.C., caught seven bass weighing 13 pounds, 9 ounces in the Sept. 10-11 event to win $2,162 in the Co-angler Division. Holt was using Senko worms on a Carolina rig to catch his bass.

    3rd: Schonn Denny, Julian, N.C., four bass, 11-1, $723

    4th: Chris Davis, Raleigh, N.C., four bass, 10-12, $505

    5th: David Moore, Triplet, Va., three bass, 7-9, $432

    6th: Aaron Fisher, Mechanicsville, Va., four bass, 7-5, $396

    7th: Kale Hoffman, Richlands, N.C., three bass, 5-15, $360

    8th: David Cook, Clemmons, N.C., two bass, 5-10, $324

    9th: Bud Amend, Pleasant Garden, N.C., three bass, 5-8, $288

    10th: Donald West, Cary, N.C., three bass, 5-8, $252

    Coming up

    The top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 20-22 Regional Championship on Lake Chickamauga in Chattanooga, Tenn. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
