    Goodwin gets BFL win on Grand Lake

    Boater Shonn Goodwin of Moore, Okla., earned $5,997 plus a $1,000 Mercury bonus as the winner of the Oct. 1-2 BFL Okie Division Super Tournament on Grand Lake.

    Boater Shonn Goodwin of Moore, Okla., caught a two-day total of 10 bass weighing 31 pounds Oct. 1-2 to win $5,997 plus a $1,000 Mercury bonus in the Walmart BFL Okie Division Super Tournament on Grand Lake. Goodwin was along banks and flats near midlake, using crankbaits and spinnerbaits to catch his bass.

    Rounding out the remaining top 10 boaters:

    2nd: Shawn Gordon, Russellville, Ark., 10 bass, 29-7, $2,999

    3rd: Chris Torkleson, Sand Springs, Okla., 10 bass, 24-14, $1,997

    4th: Chance Shearwood, Stigler, Okla., 10 bass, 24-10, $1,399

    5th: Ron Shaw, Moore, Okla., 10 bass, 24-3, $1,199

    6th: Wade Ramsey, Newalla, Okla., 10 bass, 23-14, $1,100

    7th: Craig Torkleson, Sand Springs, Okla., 10 bass, 23-4, $1,000

    8th: Kirk Washburn, Harrah, Okla., 10 bass, 22-15, $900

    9th: Allen Rude, Wynnewood, Okla., nine bass, 22-10, $800

    10th: Walter Andries, Coweta, Okla., 10 bass, 21-15, $700

    Dale Roden of Stillwater, Okla., earned $2,999 as the co-angler winner of the Oct. 1-2 BFL Okie Super Tournament.

    Dale Roden of Stillwater, Okla., caught a two-day total of eight bass weighing 17 pounds, 7 ounces to win $2,999 in the Co-angler Division. Roden was fishing up the river and using square-bill crankbaits to catch his bass.

    3rd: Ron Hummingbird, Grove, Okla., eight bass, 16-12, $996

    4th: Matt Ellis, Muskogee, Okla., eight bass, 16-4, $700

    5th: Jerome Potter, Siloam Springs, Ark., eight bass, 15-9, $600

    6th: Dylan Duncan, Kansas, Okla., eight bass, 14-15, $550

    7th: Chuck Nelson, Elmore City, Okla., six bass, 14-6, $500

    8th: Gary Lower, Iola, Kan., seven bass, 14-4, $450

    9th: Clint Williams, Fayetteville, Ark., six bass, 14-3, $400

    10th: Don Benson, Eufaula, Okla., six bass, 14-0, $350

    Coming up

    The top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Nov. 3-5 Regional Championship on Lake Dardanelle in Russellville, Ark. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
