    Anderson wins Walmart BFL event on Mississippi River

    Boater Troy Anderson of Gallesville, Wis., earned $3,879 plus a $2,000 Ranger Cup bonus as the winner of the July 30 BFL Great Lakes Division event on the Mississippi River.

    Boater Troy Anderson of Gallesville, Wis., caught three bass weighing 10 pounds, 2 ounces July 30 to win $3,879 plus a $2,000 Ranger Cup bonus in the Walmart Bass Fishing League Great Lakes Division tournament on the Mississippi River at Prairie du Chien, Wis. Anderson was using Heddon spooks for part of his catch in Pool 9.

    3rd: Mike Kiese, Weaver, Minn., three bass, 9-15, $1,293

    6th: Jim Caulum, Rockland, Wis., three bass, 9-4, $679

    Jamie Dressler of Prairie du Chien, Wis., earned $1,940 as the Co-angler Division winner of the July 30 BFL Great Lakes event.

    Jamie Dressler of Prairie du Chien, Wis., caught three bass weighing 9 pounds, 14 ounces to win $1,940 in the Co-angler Division. Dressler was flipping topwater frogs in Pool 9.

    Coming up

    The next BFL Great Lakes Division tournament is scheduled for Sept. 10-11 on the Mississippi River in La Crosse, Wis. After the fifth Great Lakes Division tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 20-22 Regional Championship on the Barren River in Scottsville, Ky. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
