    Jones wins BFL Savannah River Division on Clarks Hill Lake

    Boater Tim Jones of North Augusta, S.C., won the Walmart BFL tournament title on Clarks Hill Lake with an 18-pound, 5-ounce catch. Jones won a first-place prize of $5,089 at the Savannah River Division event as well as $2,000 for winning the Ranger Cup bonus.

    Boater Tim Jones of North Augusta, S.C., caught a five-bass limit weighing 18 pounds, 5 ounces March 12 to win $7,089 in the BFL Savannah River Division tournament on Clarks Hill Lake.

    Jeff Rikard of Leesville, S.C., caught a five-bass limit weighing 20 pounds, 1 ounce March 12 to win $2,545 in the Co-angler Division.

    The next BFL Savannah River Division tournament is scheduled for April 2 on Lake Russell in Elberton, Ga. After the fifth Savannah River Division tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 20-22 Regional Championship on Lake Chickamauga in Chattanooga, Tenn. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard.
