    Rampey wins BFL event on Clarks Hill Lake

    Boater Jayme Rampey of Liberty, S.C., caught a 10-bass limit weighing 27 pounds, 11 ounces Sept. 25-26 to win $5,997 in the BFL Savannah River Division tournament on Clarks Hill Lake. Under clouds and rain, Rampey was fishing midlake near grassy points with a frog to catch his limits.

    Rounding out the top 10 boaters:

    2nd: Brandon Cobb, Greenwood, S.C., 10 bass, 26-7, $2,999

    3rd: Patrick Bone, Cleveland, Ga., nine bass, 26-6. $1,997

    4th: Rodney Jones, Athens, Ga., 10 bass, 25-7, $1,399

    5th: Brian Easler, Inman, S.C., 10 bass, 23-9, $1,199

    6th: William Cain, Greenwood, S.C., 10 bass, 23-1, $1,100

    Noles winning co-angler

    Greg Noles of Lagrange, Ga., earned $2,824 as the co-angler winner of the BFL Savannah River Division Super Tournament.

    Greg Noles of Lagrange, Ga., caught a 10-bass limit weighing 14 pounds, 5 ounces Sept. 25-26 to win $2,824 in the Co-angler Division. He was fishing midlake pockets with a Speed Worm to catch his limits.

    3rd: William Hensley, Marrietta, S.C., 10 bass, 13-14, $940

    6th: Zach Hyder, Landrum, S.C., 10 bass, 13-2, $518

    7th: Daniel Surett, Greenville, S.C., 10 bass, 12-9, $471

    Coming up

    All five events in the Savannah River Division are complete and the top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings in the division have now qualified for the Regional Championship scheduled for Oct. 21-23 on Lake Seminole in Bainbridge, Ga. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Yamaha outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
