    Guthrie gets BFL win on DeGray Lake

    Boater Ryan Guthrie of Paragould, Ark., earned $4,350 as winner of the March 27 BFL Arkie Division event on DeGray Lake.
    McCullough, Peek tie for co-angler win

    Boater Ryan Guthrie of Paragould, Ark., caught a five-bass limit weighing 18 pounds, 4 ounces Saturday to win $4,350 in the BFL Arkie Division tournament on DeGray Lake. He fished a Rat-L-Trap on secondary points under clear skies.

    Rounding out the top 10 in the Boater Division:

    2nd: Mark McDonnel, Benton, Ark., five bass, 18-3, $2,175

    3rd: Gentry Depriest, Sheridan, Ark., five bass, 17-1, $1,451

    4th: Donald Vining, Little Rock, Ark., five bass, 15-11, $1,015

    5th: Jimmy Abernathy, Mount Ida, Ark., five bass, 15-6, $870

    6th: Kerry Milner, Bono, Ark., five bass, 14-10, $798

    7th: Matthew Mize, Ben Lomond, Ark., five bass, 14-4, $689

    9th: Tim Gartman, Conway, Ark., five bass, 13-7, $580

    McCullough, Peek tie for top spot in Co-angler Division

    Co-anglers Paul McCullough and Randy Peek each earned $1,588 as they tied for the win at the March 27 BFL Arkie event.Randy Peek of Maumelle, Ark., and Paul McCullough of Benton, Ark., each caught a five-bass limit weighing 11 pounds, 6 ounces to tie for the win and earn $1,588 apiece in the Co-angler Division on DeGray Lake. Peek used jerkbaits in the Arlie Moore area, while McCullough fished the river also using jerkbaits.

    Rounding out the top 10 in the Co-angler Division:

    3nd: Jacob Wilson, Redfield, Ark., five bass, 11, $706

    4th: Gary Cates, North Little Rock, Ark., three bass, 9, $459

    4th: Ronald Mounts, Walnut Ridge, Ark., three bass, 9, $459

    6th: Will McBride, Humphrey, Ark., four bass, 8-15, $388

    7th: Greg Rudell, Shreveport, La., three bass, 8-9, $353

    8th: John McCullar, Benton, Ark., two bass, 7-15, $318

    Coming up

    The next BFL Arkie Division tournament is scheduled for May 15 at Greers Ferry in Greers Ferry, Ark. After the fifth Arkie Division tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 2-3 Regional Championship at Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs, Ark., where boaters will compete for a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Yamaha outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
