    Freeman wins BFL Super Tournament on Toledo Bend

    Boater Glen Freeman of Converse, La., won the BFL Super Tournament Cowboy Division event at Toledo Bend. For his efforts, Freeman won more than $7,300.

    Boater Glen Freeman of Converse La., caught 10-bass weighing 40 pounds, 1 ounce Aug. 28-29 to win $7,329 in the BFL Cowboy Division tournament on Toledo Bend. Henry was fishing the north end of the lake with Yum crankbaits in 20 to 25 feet of water.

    Hicks nets non-boater title

    Randy Hicks of Lumberton, Texas, won the Non-Boater Division at the BFL Super Tournament Cowboy Division at Toledo Bend. For his efforts, Hicks won more than $2,600.Randy Hicks of Lumberton, Texas, caught 10 bass weighing 22 pounds, 5 ounces Aug. 28-29 to win $2,664 in the Co-angler Division. Over a hot and hazy weekend Hicks was deep dragging a Texas rig with a Red Bug Ole Monster to haul in his limit of five fish per day.

    3rd: Michael Streeter, The Woodlands, Texas, nine bass, 20, $889

    4th: Billy Yelverton, Baton Rouge, La., 10 bass, 19-13, $622

    5th: Brian Tolley, Katy, Texas, nine bass, 18-6, $533

    6th: John Semken, Henderson, Texas, nine bass, 18-6, $488

    7th: John Vinakalns, Wylie, Texas, five bass, 14-10, $444

    8th: Ryan Cohlmeyer, Fort Worth, Texas, five bass, 13-14, $400

    9th: Corbett Ross, Port Neches, Texas, five bass, 12-10, $355

    10th: Chris Achee, Lafayette, La., six bass, 12-4, $311

    The top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings have now qualified for the Oct. 14-16 Regional Championship on Lake Texoma in Denison, Texas. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Yamaha outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
