    Walker wins BFL Illini Division event on Ohio River

    Boater Jerry Walker of Zeigler, Ill., recorded a 12-pound, 2-ounce catch to win the BFL Illini Division event on the Ohio River. For his efforts, Walker earned over $5,000 in winnings.
    Arning grabs co-angler title

    Jerry Walker of Zeigler, Ill. caught a 5-bass limit weighing 12 pounds, 2 ounces Saturday to win $5,122 in the FLW BFL Illini Division tournament on the Ohio River. With overcast skies dominating the conditions, Walker employed spinnerbaits in shallow water on the Cumberland River to sack his limit.

    Rounding out the top-10 finalists:

    2nd: Clifford Pass, Lenzburg, Ill., five bass, 11-14, $1,561

    3rd: Michael McAtee, Waverly, Ky., five bass, 11-8, $1,043

    4th: Derek Jenkel, Pinckneyville, Ill., five bass, 11-2, $728

    5th: Brent Maurer, Ledbetter, Ky., five bass, 10-11, $624

    6th: David Young, Mayfiedl, Ky., five bass, 10-8, $572

    7th: Derek Spiller, West Frankfort, Ill., five bass, 10-7, $520

    8th: Mark Jordan, Kevil, Ky., five bass, 10-1, $468

    9th: Anthony Balding, Jr., Millstadt, Ill., five bass, 10, $416

    10th: Bobby McMullin, Pevely, Mo., five bass, 9-14, $364

    Arning wins co-angler title:

    Co-angler Aaron Arning of Walnut Hill, Ill., recorded a 8-pound, 11-ounce catch to win the BFL Illini Division event on the Ohio River. For his efforts, Arning earned over $1,500 in winnings.Aaron Arning of Walnut Hill, Ill., caught a 5-bass limit weighing 8 pounds, 11 ounces to win $1,561 in the FLW BFL Illni Co-angler Division on the Ohio River. Arning landed the majority of his catch using a Senko on a Texas rig in shallow water on Deer Creek.

    Rounding out the top-10 co-angler finalists:

    3rd: Terry Fritts, Red Bud, Ill., four bass, 7-3, $521

    4th: Jeff Reiher, Oak Forest, Ill., five bass, 7-1, $364

    6th: Jeffrey Hartman, Jr., Paducah, Ky., four bass, 6-13, $273

    6th: John Kuzera, Matteson, Ill., five bass, 6-13, $273

    8th: Kyle Loyd, Vienna, Ill., five bass, 6-9, $234

    9th: Bill Higgins, Albers, Ill., two bass, 6-7, $208

    10th: Sheldon Ayers, Anna., Ill., five bass, 6-2, $173

    10th: Donald Hartman, Paducah, Ky., five bass, 6-2, $173

    The next and last BFL Illini Division tournament in 2010 is scheduled for Sept. 25-26, at the Ohio River/Golconda in Golconda, Ill. After the fifth Illini Division tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and co-anglers based on the 2010 point standings will qualify for the Regional Championship at Lake Barkley in Kuttawa, Ky., on Oct. 7-9, for a chance to win a 198VX Ranger boat with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Yamaha outboard and a Chevy pick-up, co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
