    Rothrock reels in BFL win on High Rock Lake

    Boater Eric Rothrock of High Point, N.C., won the June 22 BFL Piedmont Division tournament on High Rock Lake to earn $4,037.

    Boater Eric Rothrock of High Point, N.C., caught a five-bass limit weighing 23 pounds, 12 ounces Saturday to win $4,037 in the BFL Piedmont Division tournament on High Rock Lake. Enduring wind and rain, Rothrock fished around stumps in 8 to 14 feet of water with a jig to bag his limit.

    2nd: Howard Bean, Salisbury, N.C., five bass, 21-1, $2,019

    3rd: Jordan Card, Cary, N.C., five bass, 19-6, $1,345

    4th: Terry James, Wadesboro, N.C., five bass, 19, $942

    5th: James Blankenship, Lexington, N.C. five bass, 18-13, $807

    6th: Todd Harris, Pfafftown, N.C., five bass, 18-11, $740

    7th: Sam Mitchiner, Garner, N.C., five bass, 17-15, $673

    8th: Ray Griffin, Henderson, N.C., five bass, 17-10, $606

    9th: Ricky McCrary, Lexington, N.C., five bass, 17-9, $538

    Lee Williams of Durham, N.C., was the co-angler winner of the June 22 BFL Piedmont Division tournament on High Rock Lake, earning $1,944.Lee Williams of Durham, N.C., caught a five-bass limit weighing 18 pounds, 10 ounces Saturday to win $1,944 in the Co-angler Division on High Rock Lake. Williams was using Senkos around rocky areas to catch his limit.

    Coming up

    The next BFL Piedmont Division tournament is scheduled for June 26 at Kerr Lake in Henderson, N.C. After the fifth Piedmont Division tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 7-9 Regional Championship at the Potomac River in Woodbridge, Va., where boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Yamaha outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
