    Lineberger outfishes BFL field on Lake Murray

    Boater Shane Lineberger of Lincolnton, N.C., won the Feb. 20 BFL South Carolina Division event to earn $4,695.

    Boater Shane Lineberger of Lincolnton, N.C., caught four bass weighing 15 pounds, 13 ounces Saturday to win $4,695 in the BFL South Carolina Division tournament on Lake Murray.

    Jeremiah Jensen of Columbia, S.C., caught five bass, 15-7, to earn $2,348 and second place in the Boater Division; in third was Maurice Freeze of Concord, N.C., five bass, 14-1, $1,565; fourth place belonged to Carlton Thompkins of Myrtle Beach, S.C., five bass, 13-13, $1,096; and tied for fifth were Scott Hamrick of Denver, N.C., and Jeremy Talbert of Albemarle, N.C., each with five bass,12-3, $900.

    Rounding out the top 10 boaters in the BFL South Carolina Division event on Lake Murray:

    7th: Mark Curry of Conway, S.C.,11-11, $743

    7th: Fred Moore, Inman, S.C., 11-11, $743

    9th: Randy Childers, Anderson, S.C., 11-9, $626

    10th: Chuck Howard, Elloree, S.C., 10-14, $548

    Co-angler Clint Jackson of Enoree, S.C., won the Feb. 20 BFL South Carolina Division event to earn $2,348.In the Co-angler Division, Clint Jackson of Enoree, S.C., caught four fish weighing 9 pounds, 14 ounces to win $2,348.

    Rounding out the top 10 co-anglers in the BFL South Carolina Division event on Lake Murray:

    2nd: Ronald Bryant, Batesburg, S.C., 9-12, $1,174

    3rd: Bryan Collins, High Point, N.C., 8-14, $781

    4th: D. J. McEachern, Columbia, S.C., 8-4, $548

    5th: Chad Griffin, Ninety Six, S.C., 7-12, $470

    6th: Terry Carteret, Clover, S.C., 7-8, $430

    7th: Michael Hanna , Belton, S.C., 6-4, $391

    8th: Nicholas Rosamilia, Gray Court, S.C., 5-7, $352

    Coming up

    The next BFL South Carolina Division tournament is scheduled for March 20 at Santee Cooper in Summerton, S.C. The top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers in the point standings at the end of the season will qualify for the Oct. 14-16 Regional Championship on Lake Guntersville in Scottsboro, Ala., where boaters will fish for a new Ranger 198VX powered by a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Yamaha outboard plus a Chevy pickup and co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
