2013 is Davis’s rookie year fishing the FLW Tour, but he is no stranger to FLW competition. Since 2009, he has competed in both BFL and EverStart Series events. 2012 was a big stepping stone for Davis, as he racked up a BFL and EverStart win, both of which came on Lake Guntersville.
When not fishing, you’re most likely to find Davis hunting. He likes to deer hunt in the off season, but turkey hunting is his favorite. Davis is an only child and is accompanied by his best friend, his father, all year on tour. Since Davis was 20 years old he has made a living guiding on Lake Guntersville. He guides around 150 days a year, but fishing the FLW tour has been his dream. One of his best memories from his years guiding was a tough day in March of 2010. After five hours of fishing without a bite, his clients were beginning to doubt that Davis knew how to catch fish. Davis finally pulled up on the “magic spot” and they all caught one every cast for 20 straight minutes. Davis estimates that his group caught at least 30 bass in the 4 to 6 pound range in that 20 minute span, with 4 weighing in at over 8 pounds!
