Since Bryan Thrift joined the Tour in 2007, he has been on a hot streak, consecutively finishing in the top-10 in the Angler of the Year race. In his first season with FLW, Thrift took home the FLW Tour Rookie of the Year award and after winning the 2011 FLW Tour event on Beaver Lake, Thrift was ranked No. 1 one on the BassFan World Rankings list. In order to achieve the No. 1 ranking he had an incredible run of seven top-10 finishes, including four top-fives, and two wins in eight events dating back to the 2009 Forrest Wood Cup. Thrift hoisted the prestigious FLW Tour Angler of the Year trophy in 2010 after having back-to-back fifth-place finishes in the AOY race. Thrift is not just a winner with FLW, in 2012 he took home the victory at the Texas Bass Classic, where 50 of the top anglers from FLW, BASS, and PAA competed.
Thrift became a new father and lost his long-time fishing partner, his own father, during his amazing 2010 season. Thrift enjoys fishing docks and counts Lake Wylie as his favorite body of water. Thrift said he fishes for fun when he’s not competing against the world’s best on the FLW Tour. Thrift said one of his most memorable moments was the last tournament he fished with his father on Falcon Lake in 2008.
