Clausen is the only angler in FLW history to win the Forrest Wood Cup his rookie season and he is one of only five anglers to have won both the Forrest Wood Cup and the Bassmaster Classic. Clausen has consistently finished very well in the FLW Tour Angler of the Year race, notching a sixth place finish in 2012, a second place in 2009 and fourth in 2008. He has qualified for the Forrest Wood Cup the large majority of his years on Tour.
A native westerner, Clausen has a sweet spot for Clear Lake in California but his favorite place to fish is Lake Coeur d’ Alene. When Clausen’s not on the water, he can be found in the field, hunting. He always wanted to be a professional angler, but as a child thought crappie fishing was way more enticing.
