Long was born and raised in North Carolina and has always lived around Lake Norman. His main occupation is a general contractor and he is married with twin daughters. When not fishing, Brent states loves helping his daughters play fast pitch softball.
Long cites his primary fishing strength as shallow-water power fishing and loves flipping and pitching jigs. This became evident in a recent win at Table Rock Lake in 2012, where he flipped his way to victory with a black and blue jig.
